Favre Locked in Hostage Negotiations

Here we go again. On the verge of my favorite time of year, football season, all of its enthusiaists, fans, and reporters are one again being held hostage by the inforamtion stream attached to Brett Favre like a piece of toilet tissue after you leave the bathroom. To recap, it was reported yesterday by FSN's Jay Glazer that good ol' Brett has texted teammates he was retiring.....again. Then this morning Ed Werder reported that Favre had not made a decision about this year yet as he tossed footballs at the most famous high school in Hattiesburg by now. Adding to this overdrawn, repeat soap opera is news that Minnesota is trying to woo Farve back with a $3M bonus. What?! The absurdity of the whole thing is both draw dropping and absurd. Those of us who love football and know where well be come opening day (on the couch with a frosty beverage), are sick of the medias coverage of Favre watch 2010. The networks bombard us with up to the minute updates about where Favre and "Chile" are instead of camera footage of the other 31 teams training camp. Im forced to hear about a hurt, old, media hungry QB's summer instead schedules and possible division battles. Enough is enough. Yeah he was great, and hes America's favorite redneck, and he holds every significant passing record ever thought up. So what?! His time was over when he left Green Bay. And New York. And after he threw the most horrendous postseason pick of all time; except maybe that one in Lambeau that vaulted the Giants to a Suber Bowl win. Who threw that one again? I know you dont wanna go to training camp, who does, but make a decision and stick to it. Hes played us all and we've allowed it to happen. So here we sit again waiting to see what he does. And as someone who loves the game and all that it encompasses, I can honestly say to ESPN, FSN, The NFL Network, and the blogosphere.....I DONT CARE!
